Message your team

Introducing UnitBook MessagingVideo · 0:56

Messages holds every conversation you’re in: your teammates on one side, the firms you work with on the other. It’s the same inbox on the web and in the UnitBook app.

On the web, press New message at the top of Messages. In the app, tap the round + at the bottom of the screen.

Pick one teammate for a private conversation, or a few for a group. The button at the bottom says what will happen:

You picked The button says
One person Message Sam
Two people Start group with Sam & Priya
Three or more Start group with 3 people
The same people as a group you already have Open your group

A new group is named after the people in it, like “Sam, Priya & Ivy”. Anyone in the group can give it a proper name later. A group holds up to 20 people.

Type @ in a message and start typing an address. Pick the listing or deal from the list and it rides along as a card above your words. Whoever gets it can open the unit straight from the message. You can attach up to three listings and three deals to one message.

The same list also offers teammates. Picking one adds them to the conversation, which is covered in Add people to a conversation.

Press + beside the message box for photos and files. On the phone you can take a photo of the unit you’re standing in. Press the microphone to record a voice note.

On the web, right-click a message to react with an emoji or press Reply. In the app, press and hold a message to react, or swipe it to the right to reply.

Brokers can start a conversation with the firm’s owners, admins and listing managers, plus their own team. A broker who is on someone else’s team starts conversations with their team lead.

Conversations with other firms belong to owners and listing managers. They start in Connect (see Find a firm and message them).

The app sends a notification for every new message, unless you’re already looking at that conversation.

If a message sits unread for about 10 minutes, UnitBook also sends one email covering everything you missed. A quick back and forth arrives as a single email once the conversation goes quiet. You can turn these emails off in your notification settings.
