What do you do at your firm?

We'll show you the guides for your role. You can change it any time from the top of the sidebar.

Set commissions and pay brokers

Every broker has their own rate. There’s no company-wide default, so set one for each broker before they work a deal.

  1. Open Settings, then Team, and click the broker.

  2. Under Commission, press Set rate (or Edit rate if they have one).

  3. Enter the Rate as a percent of one month’s rent, from 10 to 90.

  4. Add a Bonus if you pay a flat amount on top. It’s optional.

  5. Press Save commission.

While you type, a line shows what the broker earns on a $2,500 unit. A rate of 60% with a $250 bonus reads “60% of one month + $250” and pays $1,750 there.

A broker with No rate set earns nothing on paper. Their deals show no commission until you set one.

Open a deal from Deals. Under Brokers, each broker has a line like “Lead broker · 60% of one month + $250” and the amount they earn. With two brokers on one deal, each earns their own rate, and Commission on this deal adds them up.

To pay a different amount on one deal, double-click the amount and type it.

When you’ve paid a broker for a deal, check Paid next to their name on the deal. Three things happen:

  • The deal’s line adds the date, like “paid Oct 13”.
  • The broker gets a notification that their commission was marked paid.
  • The payment lands on their Payments tab.

Uncheck Paid to undo it. The payment comes off their Payments tab too.

Click a broker on Team and open Payments. You’ll see every payment and a Total paid at the bottom. The numbers across the top show their Commissions paid and Pending payout.

For money paid outside a deal, press Record payment and fill in the Amount, Period, Method (ACH, Check or Other) and whether it’s Paid or Pending.

Only owners and admins see rates and payments. Team leads never see what their brokers earn. A broker can see their own commissions in the app.
